Choosing the Best Family Ski Holiday Resort

Ardent: restaurants in beginners area at the top of the Ardent Bubble

How do you choose the best resort for your family ski holiday? Skiing with a family rather than skiing as a couple or with a group of friends makes a difference to the factors that really count. Convenience for example, is always nice to have but takes on a whole new meaning when you have young children to get to ski school.

Below are the factors we know our guests look for and how all four Family Ski resorts match up to them. We have challenged ourselves to bring out the relative merits of each resort, and checked against others' opinions eg, "Where to ski and snowboard 2009". Call us for more advice - we know all our resorts intimately.

Breathtaking scenery with some very challenging runs through interesting glacier and wooded terrain- not a huge ski area at 100kms of piste but but enough skiing to keep even very good skiers occupied for a week

3600m height makes for excellent conditions

Snow Reliability

Outstanding snow record for height due to proximity to Lake Geneva

North facing valley and snow cannon protects run to village - skiing to resort until the end of April for the last 10 years

Good snow record and generally great conditions especially on higher slopes

Home run to chalet and village is kept open as a priority until end of season and has snow cannon

Our chalets are at a reliable 2000m

High skiing generally gives among the best snow conditions in France

As snow sure as is possible - at 1800m and with glacier skiing up to 3,600m the resort is used by international ski teams to train in the summer and snow is pretty much guaranteed throughout the season
