Why Go Skiing at New Year?
Lots and lots of reasons, here’s just a few:
Maybe you’ve spent lots of time with relatives over the Christmas period and are ready to escape Granddad’s tales of “how it were in my day” (interesting the first time around but you’re finding it hard to smile at the sixth time of hearing the anecdote).
New Year is a time for spending with close family and friends, relax and let your hair down. You really don’t need to be on your best behaviour. Book a Family Ski Holiday and let us look after you. We have some smaller chalets which you can take exclusively for your party or, if you’d like some company, book a room/s in one of our larger chalets. If you’re not sure what would work best for you have a look at the “Our holidays explained” page of our website. Or give our friendly and knowledgeable team a call on 01684 540333.
Perhaps you’ve been entertaining over the Christmas period, preparing the Christmas turkey with all the trimmings, frantically running around dishing out mince pies and Christmas cheer. The washing-up is seemingly never-ending and the dishwasher has chosen today of all days to break down.
It’s your turn to to be pampered and chill out on a Family Ski Holiday. Put your feet up and let us take the strain. Breakfast will be ready and waiting for you when you wake up in the morning. When you get back from an energetic day whizzing down the slopes there will be a freshly baked cake or homemade biscuits to tuck into. We’ll prepare a healthy, tasty supper for your children, we do ask that you supervise but your host will pour you a nice glass of wine to sip and savour while you keep an eye on the little ones. Then it’s your turn to sit down and enjoy a three course evening meal. You can share your experiences on the pistes with other skiers and make new (in some cases lifelong) friends. No need to worry about the washing up either, it will all be done for you!
Exhausted after the long run up to Christmas and dealing with over-excited and hyper children? In desperate need of some me time?
We provide all day childcare clubs which run from 9am to 4.30pm. All our staff are carefully selected, well-trained and CRB checked, they’ll take excellent care of your little darlings. When you collect them they’ll be tired and happy after a busy morning on the slopes (not the Powder Pups of course!) and lots of exciting afternoon activities. You can enjoy the mountain confident in the knowledge that your children are being well looked after. Think of the lovely long lunches and long lazy afternoons. If you had enough of skiing or your legs just aren’t up to another challenging black run most of our chalets have hot tubs so you can sneak back and soak and soothe those sore muscles!
Escape that New Year’s day feeling of anticlimax when you realise that’s the party season over until next Christmas!
You’ll still have a couple of days holiday to look forward to and where better to spend it than in the French Alps enjoying a Family Ski holiday with like minded people. Get those photo’s on Facebook and make your friends envious!
Been to the same New Year Eve Party for years and years, can’t face it this year and looking for an excuse?
Do something different this year, go away for New Year with the family. Your cook will prepare an extra special meal for you on New Year’s Eve and the Champagne will be flowing.
Overindulged on New Year’s Eve?
No need to pop a pill. Banish the New Year’s Eve Hangover with a blast down the slopes, nothing better to blow away the cobwebs ! New Years day is a normal skiing day, the ski lifts are open and lessons run as usual.
Eaten too many Christmas treats and piled on the pounds?
If anyone’s discovered a better way than skiing to burn off those Christmas calories we’d like to know about it!
How will the snow be at New Year?
It should be great. The Ski season in the French Alps starts in mid-December and the snow usually starts falling well before then. The Family Ski resorts (Ardent in the Portes Du Soleil, Les Coches in the ParadiSki and Reberty in the Three Valleys) are all in areas with great snow records. Have a look at our “Will there be snow?” page for more information.
